The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

DD Suggestions

I decided I should start sharing those DD Suggestions I make, since they're all awesome people/pieces.

I've suggested the following person/piece for a Daily Deviation, to ~DailyDeviants, or both.

_{I am sorry -- I'll admit it: I don't know what your DD Nomination/Suggestion policy is, but I noticed one of the DD's tonight and you seemed the right person to talk to.

This piece goes along with the Breast Cancer Awareness thing that's been going around, and the person is actually raising money through Print Sales of that picture to donate to the Breast Cancer Association. I thought it seemed like a good candidate for a DD. This person has also experienced Breast Cancer in their family, so I thought it was a noble cause.

I've never nominated something before, so I apologize again for not knowing the proper format, ettiquette, and such. But I hope you will not hold it against the artist.
